I have always loved working in black and white. An image can become instantly dramatic with the contrast of black on white.

Working with charcoal and ink I feel I can be loose and fluid with lines and this seems to give my work more ‘spirit’. One of my favourite black & white compositions, pictured above, is And Into Nature We Go.

This piece is a mixed media composition and began with layers of some of my old drawings. It combines architectural shapes and scenes with elements of nature, flora and fauna.
